AGL challenges ESCOSA ruling

In October, Premier Jay Weatherill demanded energy retailers reduce their prices by $27.20 per MWh to reflect reductions in the wholesale price, previously set at $90MWh by the Essential Services Commission of South Australia (ESCOSA).  In response AGL suspended all capital investment in new infrastructure in the state.

In the latest development, AGL has commenced Supreme Court legal proceedings against ESCOSA stating that the body extended its jurisdiction in ruling on a wholesale price reduction.
