SA Premier demands energy companies to pass on bill cuts

SA Premier Jay Weatherill has 'demanded' that energy retailers adjust their prices to reflect reductions in the wholesale price of electricity purchased off the spot market. The rate had previously been set by the Essential Services Commission of South Australia which would allow retailers to build a pass-through wholesale cost of $90 Kwh into their prices. Although with reductions in the spot market, the Premier has called for prices to be adjusted to reflect this.
