Tamar Valley Power Station to be used in 2016

The Tamar Valley Power Station will fire up again in 2016 after lying dormant for 18 months, Hydro Tasmania says.
After the driest September on record, Hydro hired 12 new workers for the station just months after making 12 positions redundant earlier this month.
The dry conditions have led to Hydro importing about 40 per cent of the state's electricity needs via the undersea power cable Basslink, which is connected to the national electricity grid.
Hydro Tasmania director of wholesale energy services Gerard Flack said the state needed a new source of power temporarily.
