NSW Network Sales into Final Stages

The sale of New South Wale's state-owned electricity transmission and distribution network Transgrid is in the final stages of its sale with four major bidders vying for the regulated electricity assets. The sale is expected to finalise in the vicinity of $10 billion AUD.

Next on the chopping block is the state's largest transmission and distribution company Ausgrid, which has 50.4% of the company up for sale. Similarly, this portion of Ausgrid is expected to go for around $10 billion AUD.

It is expected that all bidders will come under scrutiny from both the government and public, as many of the bidders are from companies or conglomerates based overseas.

Offers for the Transgrid assets close Monday 30th of November.
