RET Review issues paper released
climatespectator.com.au, 20 August 2012:
No topic regarding the renewable energy target (RET) appears off limits for submissions to the RET Review, today's issues paper from the Climate Change Authority (CCA) suggests.
The CCA has been asked by the government to assess whether the fixed renewable energy target is working efficiently toward the pledged target of 20 per cent renewables by 2020. The first step in the review process is today's release of an issues paper, which coincides with an invitation for submissions from interested parties.
The window for submissions will close on September 14, with a discussions paper to follow in October and the final report due by the end of the year.
"The review is principally concerned with testing whether the scheme is operating efficiently and effectively in the national interest," Chair of the Climate Change Authority, Bernie Fraser, said.
