Essential Energy targets NSW jobs

NSW government-owned corporation Essential Energy is asking 600 staff to consider taking redundancies, the Electrical Trades Union (ETU) says.


The ETU says it's seen documents briefing managers to ask their staff to engage in a "mix and match" process which allows staff to voluntarily swap their current position for a redundancy.


"It is our understanding that Essential Energy has written to 600 employees asking them if they are interested in taking up the mix and match proposal," ETU NSW secretary Steve Butler said in a statement on Friday.
