SA begins deregulated pricing.

As previously reported caps will be removed from electricity prices in SA.

Previously the Essential Services Commission of South Australia (ESCOSA) had set prices. Although, this was determined to unable in combat price rises, and from today onwards competition between the retailers acting in the state will set prices.

This practice has been performed in Victoria fully since 2009, and as result prices in that state have been lower than both NSW and SA.
